Country comes to town!!
Ag City is a special section of the Apple Festival that celebrates Lincoln County’s rich agricultural heritage. With educational displays and fun hands-on exhibits, you’ll learn about the science of agriculture and see how things were done “back in the day.” You can find AG City in the grassy area on the second block of West Main Street just down from the Citizen’s Center.
Here’s what you’ll find this year:
-A live calf and animal science education display from Cooperative Extension
-A kiddie train ride, wreaths, and giant Santa from Helms Christmas tree farm.
-A soil educational display and artificial milking cow to milk, from the Lincoln County Soil and Water Conservation District
-An educational rose display from the Cleveland-Lincoln County Rose Society.
-Alpacas from Good Karma Ranch Alpacas
-Pumpkin life cycle activity and tractor photo board by Divine Farms
-Vegetable season extenders, square foot gardening, bee protection Lincoln County Master Gardeners.
-Display tractor from Stumptown Farm Equipment.
-Observation honey bee hive (sealed), Honey cotton candy machine, Bee photo board. Bee education. Bee CAGE with manikin and live hive (will not be opened for entry exit. Lincoln County Beekeepers Club.
-Corn sheller and field crop display. Cooperative Extension
-Foods display by Cooperative Extension
-Home made chicken calls, Cooperative Extension 4-H
-North Carolina Farm Bureau booth – Apple throwing contest
-Carolina Farm Credit booth
