Scalloped Apples & Onions
1 onion, thinly sliced
4 tablespoons butter, melted
5 apples, cored and thinly sliced
8 ounces (1 1/2 cups) pasteurized process cheese, cut in small pieces
2 cups French’s French Fried Onions, divided
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Sauté onion in 2 tablespoons butter in medium skillet over med-high heat for 3 minutes until tender. Add apples and sauté 5 minutes until apples are tender.
- Stir 1 cup cheese, 1 cup French Fried Onions and remaining melted butter into apple mixture. Transfer to greased 9-inch deep dish pie plate.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until hot. Add remaining cheese and onions. Bake 5 minutes until cheese melts.
